Recycling Scrap Material

Like any manufacturing company, Equip is faced with determining what to do with leftover scrap materials from operations.  Equip strives to minimize waste and continually make our operations more green. We have utilized several methods to recycle scrap materials, from local listings to third party companies.  Equip is constantly searching for ways to precent our scraps from contributing to landfills.

Recently, we were particularly inspired by an organization that will be using our scraps.  The company is called Red Clay and is centered on environmentally friendly home decor.  Red Clay wanted to find a way to ship products to their customers with zero waste, and they have.

The "RC Mailer" is a re-usable shipping package made from recycled materials.  Red Clay uses the RC Mailer to ship products to customers, and includes a return label so that it can be shipped back to the company for reuse.

On the blog, Ashley from Red Clay states:

"We asked ourselves: Can we, in fact, completely eliminate disposable materials from our shipping method while still delivering to your doorstep a beautiful package worthy of your designs?  The answer is a resounding "YES!""

Has your company made the effort to go green? We would love to hear about it.  Send your ideas or suggestions to kacie@equipinc.com to be featured in an upcoming blog entry.
